Earl's Court is an area of London set mainly in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It borders South Kensington to the East, West Kensington to the West, Chelsea to the South and Kensington to the North.

Earl's Court is one of London's most exciting areas and is home to Earl's Court Exhibition Centre, one of the country's largest indoor arenas and a popular concert venue.

Up until the 1990's Earl's Court was a haven for backpackers with hostals galore. The area has changed but still offers excellent value for money.

The properties in Earl's Court are reasonably priced compared to neighbouring South Kensington and the streets of terraced housing with attractive Victorian properties and garden squares are popular with families as well as individuals because of the convenient shopping and transport facilities.

Brief history of Earl's Court

Once a green rural area with market gardens, the Saxon Edwin had been the owner before the Norman Conquest. For over 500 years the land, part of the ancient manor of Kensington, was under the Lordship of the Vere family, Earls of Oxford and descendants of Aubrey de Vere I, who held the manor of Geoffrey de Montbray, Bishop of Coutances, in the Domesday Book in 1086.
