Belsize Park is a hugely fashionable and rich area of north-west London with a range of properties from mews houses to Victorian white stucco fronted houses. The area is bordered by Hampstead, Kentish Town, Camden and Primrose Hill and is set in the London Borough of Camden.

Even though the Belsize Park area is lively and vibrant, it still retains a village atmosphere and has become a popular location for many celebrities. There are a number of open spaces around Belsize Park including Hampstead Heath which is approximately 10-15 minutes walk and Primrose Hill Park which provides some of the best views of Central London and is only 5-10 minutes' walk.

In addition, there is an impressive range of restaurants and bars in and around Belsize Park plus The Everyman Cinema which screens a selection of films.

Brief history of Belsize Park

In the 16th century there was a substantial aristocratic manor house called Belsize House with a carriage driveway and surrounded by farmland along what is now Belsize Avenue, to the east of St Peter’s church. It was re-built in 1663 by one of the Tradescant family and the diarists, Samuel Pepys and Sir John Evelyn, recorded visits there.

Belsize House was again rebuilt in 1746 but by the 1850s the house was derelict and the gardens neglected. In 1853 the house was demolished to build an exclusive estate within the old park walls and 10 years later more housing development resulted.
